Lars Asplund, Managing Director, Lipper
Background
Lars is Managing Director for Lipper where he is responsible for the management and oversight of the Lipper business. Lars joined Lipper from Mercer Investment Consulting, where he led the global expansion of their Analytics, Research and Tools business. Previously, Lars was with Morningstar, where he co-founded their European business. At Morningstar, Lars oversaw the development of fund research methodologies for Europe and throughout his tenure ran teams in product development, business development and data gathering across Europe.
He is a graduate of the State University at Albany and holds an MBA degree from the Stockholm School of Economics (Handelshogskolan Stockholm).
Darren Duffy - Head of Fiduciary Services, Lipper
Background
Darren Duffy is the Global Head of Strategy and Business Development for the Wealth Management unit at Thomson Reuters and he is the Head of Fiduciary Services for Lipper. In this capacity he is responsible for business strategy and M&A activities across all Wealth Management businesses, including Lipper. During his tenure with Thomson Reuters, Darren has served as Co-head of Lipper, Chief Content Officer, Global Head of Content & Production and Sales Manager all within the Lipper business.
Darren joined Lipper in 2002 from Capital Access International, a leading fixed-income research firm which was acquired by Reuters. Over the course of a decade with Capital Access, Darren held a variety of senior positions in both the United States and Europe. He was an Executive Vice President and a board member at Capital Access when Reuters acquired the firm.
Darren holds an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and was a Wharton Fellow.
Dr. Richard Ramyar - Global Head of Research Services, Lipper
Background
Dr. Richard Ramyar is Lipper’s Global Head of Research Services, with responsibility for thought leadership and ambassadorial activities with investors, industry, media and governmental bodies. He presents to supranational and national regulators and parliamentarians and represents Lipper at the UK Investment Management Association and Association of British Insurers. During his tenure at Lipper, Richard also served as Head of Research UK and Ireland.
Prior to joining Lipper, Richard was a strategy and quantitative consultant for Clarksons Shipping Hedge Fund, IFX Markets and Go4Venture. While researching a PhD thesis in behavioural, technical and fundamental asset allocation strategies that were widely cited by leading publications, he worked with exotics at Bear Stearns. Prior to this, he lectured MBA and MSc postgraduates and his consultancy was covered by the financial press and television. He also served as a Director of the Society of Technical Analysts. He started his career at RBS and HBoS.
Richard holds PhD (Finance), Bachelor of Laws and MBA linked MSc in Business and Management degrees.
